Healer of Body and Soul
On Dec 14, 2019 afternoon...
I received an urgent WhatsApp message from a dear sister in Christ of my church. Her son was seriously infected with viruses in the brain and was under rescue in the intensive care unit of the hospital. Her son's condition was very critical. He was diagnosed with Neisseria Meningitis. A lung specialist said there was a 90% chance of losing the battle. At this critical moment, God had moved many brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for her son. At about 3 pm, our church pastor, elder, and deacons came to the hospital at the same time to pray for them. They prayed for every single hour. My sister's daughter and son-in-law, who is a church pastor, also came and prayed for their brother. Brothers and sisters from other churches who know her son started to pray too. One of the sisters among them even prayed for the kid every half an hour at home.
Heavenly Father is a God of no mistake and delay
My sister's son started feeling ill on Thursday night and was having a fever on Friday evening. He was sent to the hospital around 10 am on Saturday. Earlier her son had booked a flight to Los Angeles leaving at 4 pm Saturday to watch a basketball game. So, if her son didn't show symptoms until he got to Los Angeles, he might not be able to return, and she would lose her son. She deeply thanks to the Lord for letting her son showed symptoms before getting on the plane so she wouldn't lose her dear son.
My sister deeply appreciates God's plan for saving her son's life and bringing him back to the sheepfold. She shared: "Now my son went back to church with his sister and brother-in-law. God shows no favouritism, and He is full of grace and mercy. If you were lost and left His sheepfold, He will lead you back with His love. I was once very sad because my son had made some bad friends in high school and was rebellious for a period of time. Now God not only healed my son physically but spiritually. "
Here's a dairy of God's healing miracle:
Dec 13 –14, 2019 (Friday - Saturday) ...
My sister’s son started getting ill on Thursday and had a fever after returning home on Friday evening. Although he was very ill and dizzy, he asked his mother to wake him up the next day so he can make it to LA by taking the flight at four o'clock. At 11:30 pm, his father gave him medicine, but he was unable to get up to eat at 3:30 am. My sister and her husband took turns to look after their son. At 5 am when my sister got up to care for her son, her son could not even drink water.
Though noticing the son had gone to the toilet and vomited, the couple did not realize they had to take their son to the hospital. It was until eight in the morning when my sister had cleaned up the room and massaged her son, she realized she needed to take her son to the emergency. But her husband was too tired since he just slept (he also needed to perform for church Christmas drama in the afternoon and chair the worship the next morning). He slept for another two hours. At about 9 to 10 am, my sister found that her son's limbs were in constant motion and were out of control. She immediately called a church sister who is a nurse to inform her of the situation. The nurse suggested that she should send her son to the hospital. My sister immediately called the ambulance. The ambulance arrived after ten o'clock. When the paramedics asked her son of his name the second time, he was unconscious. His neck had already become stiff, and his eyes had turned white. It was horrifying!
Her son was taken to the hospital, and the sister and her husband arrived in half an hour. While the doctors and nurses were rescuing the son, the sister and her husband had to stay in another room to wait for antibiotics since the viruses were so severe and contagious.
Her son's condition was getting worse since he was infected with " Meningitis " (a virus that is notorious for causing damages to wherever it explodes like a bomb). At about two o'clock, her son was in great danger since the viruses had caused serious kidney failure, pneumonia, and brain infections.
After taking antibiotics, the couple waited in the hospital restaurant but their appetites were gone. At this time, their daughter and son-in-law arrived. My sister actually has two children, one being well-behaved and one being disobedient. This was indeed a lesson for her given by God. God gave her a loving daughter and a good son-in-law (who was a youth pastor at a Willingdon church. He is taking a master's degree in theology and is now a part-time pastor.) My sister is often grateful for them. However, her son went to church when he was young but later left the sheepfold and hadn't gone to church for seven or eight years.
My sister knew that her son's life was in danger when she heard the doctor said that he might die. She couldn't help crying aloud to God. Right at the moment, her son-in-law took her hand and said, "Mom, mom, do you believe in God? Do you believe in God?" God greatly comforted my sister through the companionship of her daughter and son-in-law.
Dec 15, 2019 (Sunday) ...
The next morning, the church Sunday school's principal called on the brothers and sisters to pray earnestly for my sister's son. Brothers and sisters prayed in pairs and the principal also prayed at the end.
Latest update from Dr. Kwan who is the lung specialist: he had improved since yesterday. He was at a 90% chance of dying yesterday but today he was down to 40%. He was on the best meds that they could give him to fight Neisseria Meningitis - anyone who wanted to see him would need to take antibiotics afterwards or just make sure you didn't touch him. He probably would need to be sedated until we see if the antibiotics would continue the work. Once it helped with treating meningitis, it might help him improve his lung. He was at 10% yesterday he's at 20% today so it would be a while till he got to 100%.
Dec 16, 2019 (Monday) ....
Her son was doing a lot better. His friends came by and her daughter and son-in-the law went in too and prayed with him. He was pretty responsive when he opened his eyes and saw them and gave them a nod. He was scared though cause they had to restrain him. So, they had to up his sedatives. The tubes in him were making him so uncomfortable. Also, he did other things too like put his thumbs up 👍🏻 when the nurse asked him what year it was, he knew what year it was by nodding or shaking his head. So, he's doing better and doing so many things like moving his toes. He's a fighter ♥️ and God is good "

Her son was in better spirits but still very weak. He saw a physio this morning and wasn't up for the wheelchair yet. Lingering infection was probably impairing his thinking a bit still. He's off the breathing tube now so he could talk a bit but still weak, just had his nostril tubes in now. He was in a good mood today when a friend of his came by to visit. They are doing additional EEG scans to check for long term damages. There were still lingering abscess and pus in his brain so it was still a bit critical and we pray that it would clear up.s! "This would be the greatest Christmas gift", said my sister!
Dec 18, 2019 (Wednesday) ....
My sister's son had been in the intensive care unit for the fifth day. From almost losing her son to her son, being able to talk and consume liquid food, my sister said, "Endless gratitude and praise to our God for He is such a loving and faithful God. He is our strong tower who shows His love every day. Through brothers and sisters praying in one heart, we see God and His abundant love. Thank you for all of your devoted prayers! "
Dec 19, 2019 (Thursday) ...
Thanks to God for being gracious and merciful, my sister's son could go to the bathroom and eat soft food on his own. "Thank you for everyone's prayers from the bottom of my heart. Together we experienced God's healing power in my son. Thanks, and praise to the gracious Lord!"
On Dec 20, 2019 (Friday) ...
My sister's son was able to make a phone call to cancel an appointment for his pet cat; he also remembered he had ordered a massager online and asked if it was delivered. The order arrived at their house that day, proving that he has a sober mind!
Dec 21, 2019 (Saturday) ...
My sisters narrated: "Greetings to brothers and sisters, the Lord 's faithfulness and loving kindness are manifested every day. My son has been in the hospital for seven days. During this whole week, brothers and sisters have worried about our son with us and prayed to God with us, asking God to heal my son with His mighty hand. Therefore, I can truly feel the love and warmth in my heart. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Throughout this period, we were not lonely because God and you had walked with me. Though I had times of despairs, tears and weakened faith in God, during this trial of our faith, God encouraged and comforted us unceasingly through brothers' and sisters' sharing of God's words. So, we need God 's words to cleanse and supply us daily. On the other hand, there were times when our hearts turned away from the Lord, God will discipline us using different circumstances, helping us to turn back like a prodigal son and taste our Father's house of richness. May the Lord give us grace and mercy."
My sister especially remarked:
"In the face of illnesses and sufferings, we accept without worrying,
God has great plans and He gives great strength. Only trust in the Lord, pray and read His words without ceasing. For in sweets and bitters of life the Lord walks with me, and Christ triumphs over giant waves! "
Dec 22, 2019 (Sunday) ...
After my sister's son was in the hospital for a week, we were so thrilled to see her husband and she came to Sunday service to worship with us! Their son was getting better every day, and his kidney index was back to normal completely (which is very rare according to the nurse at our church). They were waiting for the MRI result. If the brain abscess and pus were cleared, their son would be able to go home in two days! "This would be the greatest Christmas gift", said my sister!
Dec 23, 2019 (Monday) ...
Her son went home during the day and returned to the hospital in the evening. He would have the MRI tomorrow morning and thank the Lord, he would then go home in the afternoon.
Dec 24, 2019 (Tuesday) ...
My sister shared: "It's Christmas Eve, thanks to the Lord of peace! Thanks for His grace that all is well with my son (MRI showed no inflammation), and he is discharged today! This unforgettable Christmas is a great gift from God. We deeply experienced God's healing power on our son, the Lord's abundant grace and brothers' and sisters' love. Praise God for His love and presence. Our son and we wish you all a Merry Christmas, a healthy and blessed New Year! "
Dec 31, 2019 (Tuesday) ...
At the year-end Thanksgiving gathering of the church, my sister and her husband came out to share with us. Her husband shared the details of how God had healed his son. He shared that when his son's life was in danger, all he prayed was that his son would survive. Whether his son would be able to take care of himself in the future, he gave no thought to it! But God not only saved his son's life, He also returned him with a completely healthy son! (His son was able to go out as usual shortly after he was discharged from the hospital.) We were very moved by the couple's testimony that evening ...
Jan 5, 2020 (Sunday) ...
On a Sunday two weeks later, the couple came to worship with their fully recovered son! Their son was healthy and full of joy. He greeted brothers and sisters with a grateful and warm smile. This is truly a living and real testimony.
My sister shared at last, "We were so touched. It would be so dangerous that day if God didn't perform a miracle to heal my son! So, praying and praying together moved God's hands. He performed miraculous healing! It was on that Saturday though brothers and sisters returned to the church in the afternoon, my heart was in peace. After my son's blood was changed, he was unconscious and had many tubes inserted, we went in to see him. We had masks and protective gowns on, but I felt peaceful, very peaceful, knowing that God is with us! "
"We know that all things work together for the benefit of those who love God, those who are called according to his will." (Romans 8:28)
