True Love
"May I ask if you love this apple?" The first reaction of many is, "I do", then go grab it immediately. In fact, what the question really means is "you like it or not?" instead of "you want it or not?" The generation of people nowadays often refer “possession” as "love." A young man tells a young woman that he "loves" her, often implies "he wants to possess her." Even many parents who love their children, turn out "using their children to make money to enrich themselves." What has happened to the generation nowadays? “Love” is interpreted as “satisfying ourselves at the expense of others’ sacrifice”! Instead true love is "sacrificing themselves for others". Also, depth of love is measured by how much one has sacrificed.
As the Lord Jesus said: "Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friend." (John 15:13) Yet, where can we find this kind of “love”? This world is full of selfishness, violence, fighting and murder. Even between husband and wife, or father and son, it is difficult to find such sacrificing true love. However, only this kind of love can renew our society, give every family warmth and laughter, so as to make human live like human, thus called themselves “the most intelligence among all things on earth” to have high moral concepts, improving the values of life and live happier and honourable. Yet, where can we find this kind of precious love?
Thank God that He has such a great love and reflected it through His Son Jesus Christ. We, all mankind are sinners, and lots of us often deliberately insult God and are against God. But God still loves us and saves us from the bondage of sin and death, God even sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to die on the cross for us, as to redeem the debts of our sins, and granted us the grace of salvation and joy of eternal life to each who is willing to be rid of the menace of sin and death.
The Bible has a description of how great God’s love is– "Now it is hard for anyone to give his life even for an upright man, though it might be that for a good man someone would give his life. But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.” (Romans 5:7-8) What the Bible mainly pointed out is that, the love of God is not only the biggest sacrifice, it is also an unconditional love – He fell in love with us these unlovely sinners, this kind of love is hard to find on earth.
Dear friend, Jesus loves me, and I was touched by His love, so I became a holy, happy, blessed child of God. Many people, like me, have accepted the love of God and changed. You also need this love, because you are also who God loves, you need to get rid from the menace of sin and death, you need to live a happier and noble life. So, please open the door of your heart like me, believe and accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior, then you will experience the wonderful salvation of the Lord Jesus at once.
